BRANCO is an imported Dutch-bred stallion and
was the first stallion in the U.S. to be fully approved as a Belgian Warmblood
breeding stallion. His grandsire on his sire's side is RAMIRO Z who stood
at the world famous Zangersheide stud and has been judged the most influential
stallion on jumping performance bloodlines in the last 50 years. His grandsire
on his dam's side is AMOR who was a foundation stallion for the Dutch
registry. His dam UGONDA is also the dam of the twice Olympic participant
FREUD (s. REBEL I Z) showing under the name RADISSON DIAMOND. BRANCO'S dressage career lasted from 1987 until 1995 under three riders. He attained 14 championships including one at the Wellington Equestrian Festival in 1993 and was second in Horse Of The Year USDF first level in 1988 with a 70%. He sired 3 Horse Of The Year offspring and is the only living BWP/NAD stallion to have attained that status. BRANCO'S outstanding conformation with long neck and short back give him a natural balance and accompanying grace that few stallions can match. His gaits have been judged as "10" in competition and he passes on to his babies his wonderful fluid movements. BRANCO has sired many futurity winners and first premium foals and his broodmares are passing on his lovely gaits. In 2002 BRANCO was the sire of two of the national winning Two-year olds and the grandsire of the third winner. He was the sire of the 9th placed broodmare at Dressage at Devon and the grandsire of the 7th placed yearling colt and the 4th placed two year old filly at Dressage at Devon. |
